Child Care -  WorkForce  Solutions  South Plains offers child care services as a support mechanism for parents who work, attend school or participate in job training.  Those eligible for child care assistance include children under the age of 13 whose parents meet income guidelines.

 

WorkForce Solutions  South Plains Child Care Services assists parents who are striving to become self-sufficient.  The Child Care Services program benefits families, providers, employers and employees.

 

The Goals of the WorkForce Child Care Services Program are:

• to offer families an expanded choice of accessible child care arrangements
• to offer families an identifiable source of child care information and financial assistance
• to support the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children
• to assist providers in increasing and maintaining quality child care
• to provide child development resources to providers
• to provide local resource for child development

Parents have the right to choose the type of child care that best suits their needs and to be informed of all child care options available, including: licensed child care centers; licensed and registered family homes; and relative care.

The Youth Zone Program is a year round program that empowers South Plains Youth between the ages of 14-21, with the knowledge, skills and behaviors necessary for employment, economic independence, higher skill, higher wage careers and life long learning.  The Youth Zone program is service oriented and directed at helping youth in the South Plains area who, for whatever reason, do not appear to be on track to become members of a productive workforce.  We focus on providing information and counseling for young people as they make their career decisions.  The enthusiastic case managers with the Youth Zone Program will provide youth with a comprehensive host of services that will facilitate academic and occupational learning, develop leadership skills, preparation for further education, additional training and eventual employment.  You will have fun in the process!  Youth Zone is the entry level program that provides many opportunities for each youth.  Both in-school and out-of-school youth may qualify for various services such as:

Participating in the Youth Zone program may qualify you to participate in other program such as TEAM Lubbock and the 1st Generation Scholarship Program.
